I enjoy hearing about and seeing the things that other people hold dear. A treasure doesn't have to be valuable. In fact, some of my most beloved treasures are probably worthless to anyone else. For example, I have a handmade Valentine card from an aunt. She covered the heart in blue satin, edged it with tatting, and wrote a sweet poem inside. It wouldn't bring a plugged nickel but to me it is priceless! And, the yellow crocheted baby booties, cap, and jacket that my grandmother made for me before I even had my children - who can put a price on something like that?
Alex and Caroline looked so sweet in Ma's sweet outfit
I love the little baby booties
Aunt Addie spent a lot of time making this for me
She was a talented seamstress and her needlework was incredible
She added some bling to the front of the heart!
How sweet is this verse she added?
What a shame the cellophane tape yellowed so badly

I can crochet, knit (a little) and do embroidery but tatting has eluded me. You are so fortunate to have such a special valentine from your aunt. Thanks so much for featuring the post about My Mom's Mixer from last week's party!!!
ReplyDeleteThat card is amazing, I wouldn't have the patience to do that. Beautiful
