A Mini House Tour

You may remember that I went on a ‘booth’  junking spree a couple of weeks ago in the northern part of Alabama where four of my five siblings live.  I stayed with sister #4  at her lovely home,  but took sister # 3 out for a birthday lunch.  When we picked her up,  I asked if I could  take some photos of her house for the blog.  Her house is always in order, so luckily she was fine with it.

Here are some snippets of “Aunt Jacks” very pretty home.

Sister loves roosters

And Vintage French

(I am going to sneak these chairs out one day!!!)

She loves blue and gold

(I love this French table- might take it as well!)

She has a nice collection of blue and white

This secretary is where she still writes an occasional letter

(lots of blue and white here)

Crystal chandelier in the dining room is original to the house

The china cabinet is full of special things

Her house is Tudor style – love the windows

I love this statuary couple

DSCF4587

The great room is so inviting and warm

DSCF4589

The fireplace has a large,  high hearth that is perfect to sit on

The stones came from their land when they built the house in the early 70’s.

DSCF4592

I have always wanted a  Bouillotte lamp!!!

DSCF4593

She has a lot of hunt scenes

DSCF4599

Love the plaid throw and needlepoint pillow on this great hardwood chair

Another beautiful vignette

A pretty painted bombe chest

DSCF4605

This is the original wall paper that she chose for her foyer when the house was built.

It is still incredible – 4o years later.

She has impeccable taste and this proves that some things are timeless.

This Murano rooster in the bay window of the kitchen glows in the sun

This wooden chair and needlepoint pillow is by the bay window

A pretty crewel piece in her kitchen

This photograph is amazing

These copper quails were made by sister’s husband, “Uncle Dan”

He is a very talented sheet metal artist.
