Bed Crown Reveal

The bed crown that I have been working on is up and I love it!  It was tough attaching it to the wall that high up!  Obviously,  we had to remove the mattresses and had two ladders inside the bed frame. We used  24 – 2 1/2” and 3” screws through the back and into wall studs before I felt like it would be okay to sleep under it!

Ta-Da!

I used three lace panels - two on the back and the third one was divided for the ends.

I hung solid cream panels behind the lace against the wall,

but I wanted the returns on the ends to remain sheer.

I used a paint and stain technique for the finish.

It seems odd to me now that my bed crown was once this white molding in the basement.

I have one more piece of it!!!  I wonder what I can use it for???

This proved to be a fairly complicated project for me.

It is finished and I am pleased with the results.

I have a few more simple changes that I am making in the master bedroom right now.  As soon as I finish, I will show you the whole room for the first time ever!

  3. BRAVO!! Might I say stunning?

I think I would use the other one to encase the front of a bench or make a bench with this as the front edge and stain it to match and set it at the foot of the bed.

Unless there's room in your kitchen to make this into a fabulous shelf to hold gorgeous dishes. Boy the possibilities are endless.

  16. This came out beautiful. I have a big bare wall behind my bed and some kind of treatment like this would work very well.

  23. Rhonda,

It looks amazing and adds such drama to your room! Question: How did you hang the mirror? It looks as if it is suspended from the solid cream panels.
    You've created yet another masterpiece!

  37. I love it. your bed almost looks like my bedroom furniture.
You could make a cool wood piece, with that extra piece just at the very top and then hang a picture on the wood portion and have it in the room.
