A Lamp Make-over For DIY Day

It's time for "DIY Day", hosted by Kimba at "A Soft Place to Land".

"The Shabby Chic Cottage" is also hosting "Transformation Thursday".

You will be amazed at all the great projects you will find at the party.
They are both chocked full of inspiration.

Over the week-end, I bought these two lamps. I got one converted to a candleholder/ pedestal.

I took all the electrical cording out first. Then I cleaned and painted the rusty metal parts with a silver metallic spray paint.

After soaking and cleaning the glass pieces, I started the task of reassembling them.

This is the first one that I finished. I am using it as pedestal for a small cloche.
(If you want to read about the inexpensive cloche make-over, visit Monday's post, "Flea Market Treasures, A Lamp Make-over, and Football".

I finished the second one today. Now I have a pedestal for a cloche and a new candleholder.
The glass refects the candelight beautifully.

I can think of so many things I can use them for.
Using them both as candleholders would be nice.
