Thrifty Treasures

Okay, it seems that I  have totally lost my blogging way - I am painting furniture and forgetting to get 'before' shots,  I am finding neat treasures for my booth and dropping them off without getting photographs, and worst of all I am missing my favorite fun weekly parties.  Yes, I am busy, busy, busy with our sweet Mason, but I don't think it's just that.  My camera has been taking weird photos so I am trying to work with Alex's larger one and I don't feel like I can grab it every time I leave the house - which isn't very often lately!!!  Still, I think it is more than that.  Maybe, its that I never really got back on my feet and gained momentum after I lost my domain to the @#%$$#%  that took over my blog - still frettin' a little over that!!!  Who knows what makes us wax and wane in blog land?  I miss being here everyday.  I hope that I will get some of my old mojo back.

When I decided to slow down, I left my blog party "Treasure Hunt Thursday" in very good hands.  Pamela at From My Front Porch To Yours  is doing an amazing job.  She has persevered through slow times and it is gaining steam and I couldn't be prouder!  Thanks Pamela.

So, in support of Treasure Hunt Thursday @ FMFPTY, I took a few photos of the things I have purchased in the last couple of weeks and they totally qualify for this party!!!  Why don't you join in, too?  Even if you don't participate in the party, you should visit to see some of the amazing furniture projects and room re-dos she has going on.

I found this lovely cloche for $15.00 in an antique shop in Lineville, AL
I love it and it will remain at Blue Creek Home

I don't even mind that a leg is missing on the top dog
or that the poor dog on the bottom doesn't have a body!

I paid a whopping $1.00 for three blue Mason jars
they don't have lids, but again, that's okay.

A pretty Homer Laughlin plate to go with my
growing set of mismatched vintage dishes....50 cents!

Love this sweet vintage collar
You know it will go into the making of a pillow
~you can see more of it in the mason jar photo above~
$eventy five cents!!!

  1. Ooohhhh Rhonda now I'm loving your globe!! I think the little nicks and chips only make it more authentic and charming! Those puppies are adorable! And what killer deals on the Ball jars and collar! I want to come shopping with you *winks*

And to answer your question, I speak a little french but it isn't even necessary if you use google translate. http://translate.google.com/#

So far it's worked great for me. I've had no problem being understood at all. AND I've started to shop other countries (whose languages I don't speak) with pretty good success too *winks*
So if you happen to pick a little somethin' somethin' up let me know OK? I have my fingers crossed that you'll find the perfect one! Vanna

  3. I'm finding it hard to keep up the blog too, Rhonda. I'm down to posting just a couple times a week because I just can't do it all. So I understand. But it is a pleasure to read what you've been up to and to see your fun finds. I love the sweet collar and the mason jars. I'd have bought them for sure. Hang in there!

  6. SOOO nice to see you posting again, Rhonda. I figured that you were kind of bummed out since the PERSON (if we want to call him/her that) got your domain name! I am glad to see you are back up and running though. I was looking at that collar and it was $10.99 originally! That was a LOT of money back then, don't you think?

    Take good care- xo Diana

  9. Love your cloche Rhonda! And I love it even more because of the imperfections of the dogs...I love that!

Your new posts are not showing up in my google and I tried to "re-follow" you since the issues you had, but it didn't work. I don't know how to fix this do you? May I should delete and then re-follow....

If you know, let me know :)

  11. Hi Rhonda,

I have been out of the loop for a few weeks myself. I'm glad you are enjoying time with Mason. Babies grow when we aren't looking and way too fasttt.
Like your treasures, especially the cloche and time worn dogs.

    Your Friend,
    Deborah
