A Post At Last

Sorry that I have been MIA for a few weeks - I needed time to catch up on some things - a large pillow order for a local lodge, starting Christmas things for my booth and Etsy, etc.,  but mostly I needed to catch up with myself.  Somehow, in all of the 'stuff' that goes on here at Blue Creek Home, I had sort of lost myself.  I decided that 'lost' was not where I wanted to be, so I came up for a big gulp of air and it felt good. Oh, and thanks to those who sent an APB email searching for me!

Some health issues are also to blame for my disappearance.  I won't go into the boring details, but long story short : I have been dealing with fibromyalgia for over 10 years and it seemed as though 'good days' were getting fewer and farther apart. I did see a new rhuematologist  (waited 3 months for appt!) and he started me on Hydroxychloroquine (anti Malaria drug, of all things!) and after a couple of weeks of unpleasant side effects, it seems to be helping.  Dr. Vampire took most of my blood, and thankfully, I am within normal ranges in the autoimmune/connective tissue disorders that he was really concerned with. He did discover a few things that aren't great, but not deadly either. So, onward and upward.

So, on to happier more interesting things - like fall for one.  It has officially arrived on the calendar but like me, it is s-l-o-w!!!  It is gently easing it's way in - nights are definitely cooler. Our days, however, are still pretty muggy and warm.  I am longing for a nip in the air...the smell of burning firewood...watching Mason jump in the middle of a big pile of leaves...drinking coffee in the courtyard...planting pansies...making soups and stews...and just being outdoors without melting into a puddle where I stand!

I missed you all !!!  I got worried about myself when I didn't even visit my favorite blogs very often- that is just not normal for me.  I do have to admit to getting caught up in the StumbleUpon wave!!! So, when I say I have been stumbling around, I really mean it!  I have the button on my toolbar, and I can't tell you how many times I stop by my computer and Stumble!  It reminds me of a slot machine...so be careful, it's addicting!

I'm not much on photo-less posts, so here is a sneak peak that Mimi Bleu posted on facebook from my feature coming up in the holiday issue of Belle Inspiration. And, speaking of Belle Inspiration, have you ordered yours??? The fall issue (the first hard copy) is due out in just a couple of days and I am so very excited!!!! You can order yours at Belle Inspiration
It is truly an honor to be associated with such a beautiful magazine.  Thanks Mimi!

I consider myself fortunate to have found this incredible late 1800's European wall clock
~  It is exquisite if I may say so -  the patina is crazy beautiful ~
I don't eeee-ven care that the clock doesn't work!!!

  3. Rhonda- I am so happy to see you back. I suffer with some of the same issues..I am on an old, old anti-inflammatory that they don't use much anymore because of the side effects but it is the ONLY thing that works for me- Indomethicin. Not pleasant but it keeps me mobile. But, this year, too, I have had some very bad flares- not sure why. My sed rates are incredibily high-so I KNOW what you are going through...and I, like you, don't like to even mention it to people.

Anyway, glad you are back- glad you found YOU- and I am looking forward to you getting back in the blogging groove when you feel up to it! xo Diana

  4. Hey darlin' I have missed seeing you around. My best friend suffers from fibromialgia (sp?) and it has been debilitating for her. So sorry to hear you suffer from it too. I have found as I age I develop more health issues or the ones I have increase.

Hope you are back to feeling better soon.

    XOXO,
    Judy

  6. Rhonda,

Be as kind and caring to yourself as you are to others. I know all too much about chronic auto-immune disease. I am emailing you.

    Your Friend,
    Deborah
