Simple Changes

I made a very simple change in the dining room today by adding some fresh flowers in a Mason jar to a little side table and putting three old bottles from my collection under the cloche. It was a fast, fun, and free.

This vintage iron table is perfect to use next to a chair in a small space.
It's hard to tell here, but it is painted soft blue and has weathered beautifully.
It has been in the dining room since I did the de-formalization.

I change up the top often to keep things interesting

I made the sheep in pottery class - by hand I might add!
I used a garlic press for it's curly wool

Caroline picked gardenias from the bushes that line our drive.
They are blooming for the second time this season.

She walked into the edge of the woods and picked a
handful of wildflowers to add to the arrangement.
The pink ones remind me of sweet peas.
The dining room smells so sweet!

  7. The sheep is awesome.!! The wool effect makes it look so natural. Nice job!! Like the use of bottles too. Even I am experimenting with bottles of all shapes and sizes for decoration. I intend to put up the pictures on the blog in a couple of days. You are most welcomed to have a look.

  9. Love your cloche display, Rhonda! I always wind up keeping mine the same once I do something. I should challenge myself to change it out each week and then maybe I'd have more to share.

  13. Rhonda,

I adore the little sheep you made! Your creativity astounds me -- a garlic press for his wool coat. Who'd a thought?!

Fresh flowers and antique bottles are things you will find in every room in the Fairfield House!
