Treasure Hunt Thursday Chair Makeover

It’s time for Treasure Hunt Thursday, a linky party for sharing and showing off your treasures. Whether it be a treasure that you have had for years or one that you found yesterday, they are all welcome to be a part of Treasure Hunt Thursday.
Last weekend I went to two of my favorite thrift stores in Auburn.  I found more than I needed at the first one. I didn’t have much luck at the second one and that was just fine since I had spent too much at the first place!!!
Here are my two treasures this week
I get impatient and forget to do before shots.
This was taken after the makeover
And, of course, I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint – Duck Egg Blue

I already had this pretty toile fabric

I like the combination.

I adore Chippendale!
I used one of my new hang tags for this chair.
It adds a little something, don’t ya think?
I also got this rustic cabinet
I do have a weakness for small cabinets you know.

It was already painted shiny bright white – too shiny white for the style!
I sanded it with the palm sander and used Annie Sloan waxes
Then I added a silver latch

The texture on this old wood is great
lots of tiny knots and old nails
I am joining these parties:

Melissa @ Shabby Love scored big at an estate sale!

Sylvia from My Trinkets almost left this incredible demi john behind!!!

This is a perfect example of a treasure that can’t be found at a flea market.
Deborah treasures this beautiful view from the third story window at Fairfield House.
If this could be bought, it would sell out fast!

It your turn to share your treasures with us, now.

  3. What are the flea markets you go to in Auburn? I might have to make a little trip up there before football season to check them out!

I usually go to Angel's in Opelika but also love to find new places.

  10. The fabric you used on the chair is perfect. Bright white would be too harsh for that old rustic cabinet....you did it a huge favor. Great transformations.

  16. These are two wonderful treasures that you are sharing this week. I received my paint from RSD and can't wait to get my hands on a mirror that I have (it's going in my screen porch)...love the style of the chair. Better go and get back to getting this house ready for next week. I need a break at least once a day.

    Blessings,
    Linda
