We have two screened porches, one small, under roof deck, and the front courtyard.  You enter our home through the courtyard on the middle floor.  One of the screened porches is on this main level, even though from the back of the house, you are 20 ft. up at the rear ( I love to sit there during a storm!).  The other screened porch and deck are on the ground floor which is where the garage and the walk out basement area are.

I worked on the lower screened porch last year and posted the makeover here if you would like to read about it.

The main entrance to Blue Creek Home is through our courtyard

The gate was a lucky antique mall find before we left Jackson.

We built the courtyard wall to fit the gate.

Leaving the house,  this is the wall to the left.

I got this great metal table at the Ballard Outlet in Atlanta.

The vintage double canner came from a thrift store in Florida –

check out that patina on the copper bottom!!!

Al is into cacti this summer!

View from our front door.

Those big rocks were on our property

We have them all over the place – love them!

Sorry,  we just cleaned the fountain and it’s not filled and running yet.

I do love the sound of it though!

I got two of the vintage chippy columns at a local junk store.

Yep, that’s big tomato plants on the table.

We have gotten a lot of tomatoes from those two plants.

I like not bending over to water and harvest!!

The old sewing machine base and white marble top came from a local auction.

{Caroline left the curtains wonky this morning…excuse us!!!}

We designed the front porch to be just large enough for visitors to get out of the weather.

The large antique corbels  came from an antique mall in Jackson.

Downstairs screen porch -  just in case you didn’t hop over and read that post.

We have lots of vintage items out there.

We have since removed the drop cloth drapes. I miss them– they were cozy

and allowed us to spend time out there even when the sun was setting.

But, you wouldn’t believe how fast they mildew in the Southern humidity.

I got tired of having to take them down, launder them, and rehang them!!!

  4. Your entryway courtyard is very pretty. Love the fountain. I have a very very small one, but the water gets yucky in it so fast, so half the time I don't bother to fill it. I do love the sound though!

  6. I think I love your house! One of those you drive by and can only imagine what the inside looks like. 2 porches... How lucky you are. I love outdoor living spaces. Your fountain, the gate, the side table and even the tomato plants are all things I think are divine. We have had so much rain here (Idaho) that my little tomato plant is not even over a foot tall. Oh, I'll be back to read more (yes a follower). Hope you have a great day.

  7. I went back and read your other porch post. Loved the Little Chicken House area there! The front is very pretty, Rhonda. Lovely. What I like about your home and posts is that it is so real..yeah..a bit of curtain out of place....tomatoes by by the door...like real people live!! Great post..thanks for sharing your beautiful spot with us...now get out there and get that fountain running! xo Diana

  22. Rhonda your courtyard is AMAZIGN! That side table is to die for - as is everything else! I came by via Susan's party, but I missed it myself. I took pics of my pergola all dressed up this afternoon (with the 2 hour lull in the rain), and I REALLY hope you'll stop by and take a peak, and let me know what you think of the progress! :)

  23. Rhonda,

Love your courtyards. They remind me of those in New Orleans and Savannah. What a wonderful way to say "welcome to the Blue Creek Home."
