Do you see the two Duck Egg Chalk Paint projects?

Found this plaque at Hobby Lobby for $3.60
Duck Egg Chalk Paint
This is one coat of Country Grey Chalk Paint on my thrifted $3.00 wooden cake plate
Damask stencil
more Duck Egg
Some clear and dark Annie Sloan wax
Distressed a little
Happened to have a cloche that fits it!

And this little project spiraled into a full scale tablescape
This antique gate leg table is one of my favorite things
I made the ivy topiary many moons ago!
Love old tattered books

I bought this table runner at my favorite flea market in Jackson MS
It is the palest aqua imaginable – pretty pretty!
This is a good photo of the plaque after I distressed it.

Had to add some duck eggs!!
I know, I know, ducks don’t lay their eggs in a nest, but it goes with the story!

This little crown was a wine bottle stopper but the cork came off
I put a vintage pin in the center

Alex made this clay bird for me.

Love this mirror – had it several years

I had fun playing!

  1. LOVE the plate, Rhonda! What a great stencil and it makes such a great base for your cloche! The Duck Egg is a nice color; I'm hoping to maybe try that or the Paris Grey next.

Your tablescape is just beautiful. And the legs on your table....WOW!

  3. Hello there,
I just won 2 cans of chalk paint on Miss Mustard Seeds blog, generously from LadyButterbug.
I am looking forward to trying it. I am a rep for Caromal Colours, a similar product to Anne Salones's chalk paint. No Sanding, No primer, No Prep! And the best part, is, I just found out I can tint Caromal Colours "Reclaim" white or off white, with any color imaginable at my local paint shop, I just asked the guy at the paint store if I could just buy the tint, they would use for a quart size.Picked out the color I wanted from 1000's of color choices, I wanted a French blue. Brought it home, mixed my quart of Caromal Colours "Reclaim" off white. and mixed. I sell the paint on BushWoodArt.com Please check out my other blog too, I blog about Caromal Colours there too. Lucysbaby.blogspot.com
Oh yeah, Reclaim is less expensive, $34.50, a beautiful long lasting finish, their wax is to dye for, from England, called Liberon- all eco friendly, even the containers!

  17. Hi Rhonda...

My friend, it sounds like you are keeping busy, busy! I just adore your new frenchy vignette! That mirror is fabulous...love the beautiful ornate frame! And...you know how I love cloches! Hehe! The wooden base turned out soo pretty! I think the damask design that you stenciled on it...just made the piece! Of course, the chalk paint and distressing is gorgeous! It really IS in all the little details....and you didn't leave even one unattended! Ohhh...and I nearly forgot...the soft aqua topper is awesome!!!

Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful vignette with us, dear friend! I hope that my note is finding you and your sweet family all doing well! It's been a little while since we have visited! Have a fabulous day, Rhonda!!!
