A Sweet Religious Project

I found  a sweet vintage frame at an antique mall last week for $3.00.  I thought I would paint it white and use an Easter photograph in it and take it to my booth at Old Banks Antiques.  But, that plan didn’t work out!
I love incorporating religious images, charms, etc. into my pillows and crafts.  This small pillow top has been sitting on my sewing machine for months waiting to be finished.  I knew that it would be so pretty in the vintage frame.  To make it fit,  I used a piece of Robin’s egg blue for the background.

This beautiful image came from The Graphics Fairy.
I ironed an old piece of linen from a vintage tablecloth to freezer paper
and transferred the image on it using the computer/printer.
I stitched the linen to a piece of brown fabric and then to a piece of canvas.
Next, I glued the canvas to the blue fabric cut to fit the frame.
I think the color of the frame and the open design is perfect for this project.
I am joining the party @

  14. What a wonderful idea! Don't you just love the gorgeous vintage images at the Graphics Fairy? And the image you chose - and then layered on top of those fabrics - looks lovely in the old frame.
