We had so much fun at the Christmas Open House that was held in our small town. I had worked hard getting my booth at Old Banks Antiques ready, so I was just ready to enjoy the tour and do some shopping. G-Man bought me the most adorable nativity –aka ‘activity scene’! That’s what Alex called them when she was a wee little thing!
This beautiful piece was handmade by Jo Pate, a local potter.
The driftwood comes from our own Lake Martin.
She forms the clay by hand.
How cute are these palm trees?
She uses a pine tip of a pinecone on top of a whole naked cone!
Ingenious!!!
Mary…
Joseph…
and Baby Jesus…asleep on the hay lichen.
I really can appreciate the work that goes into pottery after I finished two class sessions at Auburn University. I am sitting the current session out, but G-Man is still going and creating some lovely pieces. I will share some of our pottery soon.
Thank you to all of our brave troops who serve
our country to keep us free!
***Alex has a sweet “Veterans Day” post up today @ Blue Creek Basement.

Rhonda, this is the most beautiful, creative, and special Nativities I've ever seen. The pine cones and local driftwood make it so special.
