A Thankful Family Story

Today I am sharing a story that deserves an actual post as part of the Giving Thanks Challenge.  I am keeping up with my list on my sidebar.  It has been good for me to stop and list these things.

Mary, wife of  nephew Matt (sister # 3’s son) had a horrible car accident on Thursday morning.  She was driving Matt’s small truck to work so Matt could take her car in to be serviced that day.

We think she was adjusting the seat when she ran off the road in a rural area.  The truck went air born,  rolled at least three times, and landed on it’s roof at the edge of the woods. A woman who lived nearby heard the crash.  The back window was out and Mary was half way out into the truck bed.  The woman said that she was terrified to approach the vehicle.

Mary was airlifted to Birmingham where she underwent a series of scans and x rays.  She spent the night on the acute trauma floor where she was watched closely.  The tests revealed a cracked shoulder bone, and a crack on each side of her coccyx.  Obviously, you can’t cast these areas and surgery wasn’t necessary.  She also had a huge hematoma on her side and contusions under her breasts from the seatbelt.

Miraculously, she came home late Friday and is resting at home.

Matt said that God must have had her in a bubble.  The vehicle barely resembles one now and she flipped in an area where there were no trees in her path.  No one can convince me that God wasn’t in that vehicle with her that day. She was in His arms the whole time and He spared her…and for that, I am very thankful.

I will say it again…God is good!

  3. Rhonda- I think those bruises on her torso are not from the seatbelt but from angel's arms holding her in place. God is good and I am glad she is going to be all right! Hugs- Diana
