I Found a Mannequin!!!

For over a year,  I have been looking for an affordable mannequin.  I have found numerous ones that cost $200.00 and up, but that is ridiculous!  I didn’t want one that badly!

I was more than excited when I found this one at one of my favorite local antique malls.

I have never seen a wicker one!!

The metal base is great…lovin’ it!

I was going to paint her cream but the green is growing on me.

Maybe, I will just sand it lightly to expose a little more of the

natural color wicker.

I picked up a few more vintage treasures at a junk store for - cheap!

I love a bargain!!

I fell in love with this mirror.

Angels and cupids make me happy!

This floral headband looks a lot like my bridal hairpiece.

This little cloche has a hanger inside.  I think I will paint the base white

and use it to display (and protect)  the one Christmas ornament

that I have from my childhood.

When I went into the bedroom to photograph the mannequin this afternoon,

the sun was low in the sky.

The room was dark, but the stain glass windows were alive with light…

it takes my breath away every time!

I am joining the fun at Rhoda’s and Linda’s parties.  Click their party buttons to see more treasures.

  2. How do you have time to make anything for your Etsy store with such a cute baby around. I'd be busy kissing his little sweet cheeks and neck all day and get nothin' done!

Your mannequin is fantastic. One way to lighten it up and avoid sanding (the wicker can be pretty sensitive) take a chip brush and very lightly brush (almost dry brush) some off white or white over the existing wicker. A little goes a long way. Try it on a cheap garage sale basket if need be to see how much you want to do. Just my opinion.

Can't wait to see what you do with this beauty!
