Today, I am joining Linda at “Coastal Charm” for the newest thrift party, “Nifty Thrifty Tuesday”. Linda is a lovely girl with a lovely blog. Please join us there to see the great bargains that have been discovered this week.
Spring is trying it’s best to get here and that means that yard sales will be crankin’ up soon! And, of course, we always have thrift stores around to keep us happy until then.
I haven’t been ‘junkin’ since I posted about the trip to Albany with G-Man.
I got a few more little “do-dads” (does everybody know that word, or is it a Southern thing?) on that trip. Hey…there’s a party waiting to happen - “Do-Dad Day!!!
I love this blue gray vintage wash pan. At least I hope, hope, hope, it was a wash pan – if you know what I mean!!!!
The little vintage frames are sweet, aren’t they?
This wooden pedestal cake stand was found at a local thrift store last month. I am still deciding on a paint finish for it.
I wish that I could claim that I am a baker extraordinaire and that some of my cake creations would be displayed on it!

I have yet to post the details, but G-Man and I went to an incredible auction in the historic part of our little town back in December. We went bidding crazy!! And luckily, we won several wonderful things.
This old iron sewing stand with it’s very heavy marble top was only $20.00.
I needed to speak to our postman today, so while I waited in the courtyard, I decided to clean the marble. ( Obviously, I decided against sweeping the leaves!!!)
The postman was running late…it was after lunch, I was hungry, and tomorrow is “Tabletop Tuesday” over at “A Stroll Thru Life”. So, since the marble was clean and it was a sunny, 57 degrees outdoors, I decided to have lunch in the courtyard while I waited.
Lunch was simple – a salad and iced tea.
These warm colors make it feel even warmer outdoors.
Now is when that non-existent cake that should be on that cake stand would be nice!

So, I cleaned up. The postman came. (He is going to start picking up my Etsy orders from my house…Hallelujah!) And he handed me all of these. I love catalogs!!!

Speaking of Etsy, I added a few pillows today.
Thanks for hosting NTT, Linda. I am looking forward to many more! And, thanks to Marty for hosting TTT.

First I love the new pillows! And second I'm SOOOO jealous you got to each out in such a lovely courtyard! It was nice here today but not that nice!
ReplyDeleteI like all your doo-dads!
ReplyDeleteI used to break beans (back when dinosaurs still roamed the earth:-)), in a pan like your grey one. I would sit on the porch with the pan on my lap and my feet up on a chair.
You really have found some treasures. I love your frames and the wash pan, and the cakestand is just so pretty. Love the scalloped edge and the carving. Now as for the table. That just has me drooling and then you fixed such a pretty place setting for your lunch. Way too cute. Thanks for joining the party. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteDoodads is a word that I've used, too. : ) That cake pedestal is great ~ I could see a cloche on there! Love your little outdoor set-up. I'm looking forward to being able to be outside longer than 15 minutes without getting frozen!
ReplyDeleteOh I love that cake pedestal! My mom has a sewing stand with a marble top.... I never thought to put it on the patio.... hmmmm.... great idea!

That table with the marble top is goregous!! And I love the pillows! I am envious of sun and WARMTH! Cameron had ballgames all day Saturday and it was windy and COLD! I grow weary...
ReplyDeleteLou Cinda :)
I just adore those little frames - so sweet!
ReplyDeleteI love your table setting!!! It looks like Spring is in the air... Everything is so pretty!! Sounds like you got a really good deal on the sewing base and marble top, it looks great. I have a sewing base with an old wooden top, I use it to put plants on.

I love your pillows and your new marble top table! And I use the phrase do-dads and do-hickeys and thing-a-ma-bobs!
ReplyDeleteKat :)
I love all your fines! I am excited that warmer weather will soon be here but the hubby has this idea that we will rise at 5:30 A.m. and swim laps at the rec center until 6:45 A.m where upon he will go to work and I can go home and get ready for work! At least I will be fit to run to the yardsales and such! LOL!
ReplyDeleteWhat fantastic "do-dads"! :) I know exactly what that means; but then again, I am from Alabama!! I especially love your wooden cake stand and that little double photo frame is so cute. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteI am not sure what Nativity you are referring to, but I don't have any for sale. I did talk about making sets to sell in the past.
I would love to make more sets closer to Christmas, but I don't know if I can find the parts (heads, hands, etc.)to make more sets.
But, thanks for asking.
Rhonda
I would for sure have snapped up that sewing machine table. I seem to collect those. So many versatile uses for them. I love your finds. And I hope the washtub is "a washtub!"

Bonjour Rhonda,
ReplyDeleteYoud did get some fabulous "do-dads"! I laughed when I read that, I didn't realize how much I say that too until my French honey had to ask me what is a do-dad? The best part is now he is saying it - it's hilarious with a French accent!!
The marble topped table looks like heaven in that sunshine, and I love the little double frame.
Hope you're having a great week!
Rhonda,
ReplyDeleteI'm soooo happy to see you at my first NIFTY THRIFTY TUESDAYS party! Wow...only $20.00 for that awesome iron sewing table...love how it looks in your courtyard...your courtyard is so inviting!
Blessings,

What an interesting cake stand made out of wood. Your marble top sewing table makes a lovely patio table. Enjoyed viewing your lunch for one in the wintery like chilly weather. Makes one yearn for spring already!
