Lunch In The Courtyard and Thrifty Finds

Today, I am joining Linda at “Coastal Charm” for the newest thrift party, “Nifty Thrifty Tuesday”.   Linda is a lovely girl with a lovely blog.  Please join us there to see the great bargains that have been discovered this week.

Spring is trying it’s best to get here and that means that yard sales will be crankin’ up soon!  And, of course, we always have thrift stores around to keep us happy until then.

I haven’t been ‘junkin’ since I posted about the trip to Albany with G-Man.

I got a few more  little “do-dads” (does everybody know that word, or is it a Southern thing?) on that trip.      Hey…there’s a party waiting to happen - “Do-Dad Day!!!

I love this blue gray vintage wash pan.  At least I hope, hope, hope, it was a wash pan – if you know what I mean!!!!

The little vintage frames are sweet, aren’t they?

This wooden pedestal cake stand was found at a local thrift store last month. I am still deciding on a paint finish for it.

I wish that I could claim that I am a baker extraordinaire and that some of my cake  creations would be displayed on it!

* * * * * * *

I have yet to post the details, but G-Man and I went to an incredible auction in the historic part of our little town back in December.  We went bidding crazy!!  And luckily, we won several wonderful things.

This old iron sewing stand with it’s very heavy marble top was only $20.00.

I needed to speak to our postman today, so while I waited in the courtyard, I decided to clean the marble.   ( Obviously, I decided against sweeping the leaves!!!)

The postman was running late…it was after lunch, I was hungry, and tomorrow is “Tabletop Tuesday” over at “A Stroll Thru Life”.  So, since the marble was clean and it was a sunny,  57 degrees outdoors,  I decided to have lunch in the courtyard while I waited.

Lunch was simple – a salad and iced tea.

These warm colors make it feel even warmer outdoors.

Now  is when that non-existent cake that should be on that cake stand would be nice!

* * * * * * *

So, I cleaned up.  The postman came. (He is going to start picking up my Etsy orders from my house…Hallelujah!)  And he handed me all of these.  I love catalogs!!!

* * * * * * *

Speaking of Etsy, I added a few pillows today.

Thanks for hosting NTT,  Linda.  I am looking forward to many more!  And, thanks to Marty for hosting TTT.

  3. I like all your doo-dads!

    I used to break beans (back when dinosaurs still roamed the earth:-)), in a pan like your grey one. I would sit on the porch with the pan on my lap and my feet up on a chair.

That just has me drooling and then you fixed such a pretty place setting for your lunch. Way too cute. Thanks for joining the party. Hugs, Marty

I am excited that warmer weather will soon be here but the hubby has this idea that we will rise at 5:30 A.m. and swim laps at the rec center until 6:45 A.m where upon he will go to work and I can go home and get ready for work! At least I will be fit to run to the yardsales and such! LOL!

  30. To Anonymous-
    I am not sure what Nativity you are referring to, but I don't have any for sale. I did talk about making sets to sell in the past.

    I would love to make more sets closer to Christmas, but I don't know if I can find the parts (heads, hands, etc.)to make more sets.
    But, thanks for asking.

  35. Bonjour Rhonda,
    Youd did get some fabulous "do-dads"! I laughed when I read that, I didn't realize how much I say that too until my French honey had to ask me what is a do-dad? The best part is now he is saying it - it's hilarious with a French accent!!

    The marble topped table looks like heaven in that sunshine, and I love the little double frame.

    Hope you're having a great week!
