And for the first time, I am linking to the "Before and After" party at "Thrifty Decor Chick". Sara's blog is so much fun.

I have always had a thing for lamps. If the attraction is really strong and the price is right, I will purchase a lamp even when I don't need a lamp!!
I wonder if there is a name for this disease? Lamp-osis? Lamp-itis? Lamp-aholic???
Well, I have it whatever it's called!

Maybe this explains why most of my do-it-yourself projects, so far, have involved lamps and lampshades.

I don't want to disappoint anyone, so guess what this weeks DIY project is?
Yes sirree - it's ANOTHER lamp and lampshade make-over. But, I promise that it's adorable and real easy!!!

Painting & distressing the vintage lamp
I used my free Glidden paint in Oyster Shell to paint about 90% coverage
After it dried, I used a wet rag to remove small areas
I used dark gray glaze to bring down the white paint in some areas
Denim Blue Lusterstone (Aqua Color product) was sparsely applied for a little touch of that verdigrised look

Making the body scrub lampshade

** For more information and lampshade views, you can visit Monday's post "Fall Fever, Thrifty Treasures, & A Sassy Lampshade Make-over".

I added teardrop and round crystals that I already had
The clear/pale pink glass garland that I draped around the leaves is actually Christmas garland

It's pretty with all the lights on too!

  2. Hi Rhonda...thanks for stopping by. I love your lamp makeover, very impressive. I am hooked on lamps and lampshades as well. My living room has 4 lampshades sitting in the corner waiting for a suitable lamp as well as 4 small lamps in my buffet waiting to be rewired!
