Pretty Things

I found several good items over the weekend for "Today's Thrifty Treasures". Rhoda at "Southern Hospitality" is the gracious, weekly host.

This little silver plated, pierced container was only $7.50. Isn't it cute?

I purchased this off-white, 40" square tablecloth from an antique store in Lineville yesterday. It was 40% off, making the final price $15.00. I have always had a weakness for linens, but after taking an heirloom sewing class, I have a new appreciation for what it takes to make these lovely things. This cloth has some beautiful stitching at the hem and a sweet block design in the center. Best of all, it doesn't have any stains.

My favorite find of the day are these reproduction apothecary jars. The light green glass is hand blown and the lids are nice and rusty. Now, I have to decide how to use them. Ideas are welcome!!

Al found a few toys too!!

  1. Oh I have a terrible weakness when it comes to linens too. Your cloth is very pretty. I limit myself to ones that do not have stains just to control myself :0) Love the apothecary jars! You should check out the cloche party from last friday to see all the ideas people had for jars, etc...Love the pierced container!

  18. Hi Ronda,
I love your thrifty finds. It just goes to show you can get quality if you have a discriminating eye. These things are lovely and they are very much my style. You mentioned you took an heirloom sewing class, sounds interesting and I imagine it was intricate and detailed work. Thanks for sharing you good stuff; it was fun to take a peek. Cathy
