I am way past pulling off fashion from Anthropologie. However, my two daughters, both in their twenties, love the place. So it is, that I continue to get their fascinating catalog at my address, even though both girls have flown the coop!!
My oldest daughter had inherited an Anthropologie quilt from a college friend several years ago. She used it for two years. It was then handed down to the her younger sister who loved it for another year. I knew the quality was very good.
The new Anthropologie catalog arrived yesterday and I went straight to the home section. Oh my gosh!!! I love everything there. They have one more talented designer and photographer. None of the rooms resemble anything that would be found in a real house-at least not anyone I know. They are all exotic, over-the-top, and very alluring. Chairs are teetering precariously on stacked books, pillows are mysteriously floating in the air, scissors are suspended from the ceiling on white ribbons, folding chairs are stair stepped up a crumbly brick wall, a bedroom's floor and walls are covered in clocks and clock faces.
Now, none of this is normal, but it has great impact. It makes me pause to think. It makes me wonder what the designer was thinking. In my opinion, that makes a very succesful publication.

I love going on the Anthropologie website and looking at their stuff, mainly to get ideas. The quality is definitely there with their stuff, but their prices are a little high. I know all their brands, though, so I find lots of their stuff on eBay NWT for much less.
