Treasure Hunt Thursday No. 14 & Gold Things

Welcome to Treasure Hunt Thursday.  I hope that you have a favorite treasure to share today.  Remember, it doesn't have to be a new purchase. This isn't necessarily a yard sale, flea market, antique mall, etc. party.  It is a place where you can share a precious item with your blog friends.  I love the story that goes along with a treasure as much as I enjoy seeing the treasure, so please share the memories too.  Of course, treasures that you did pick up over the last few weeks are welcome as well.  My own entries are a mixture of both kinds of treasures.
Today, I will be sharing a fairly recent purchase of some gold items.  I just can't decide if I need to paint them or leave as is, keep them or sell them, or just let them continue to hang out with all of the other treasures in my 'holding cell' AKA basement!

picture frames and mirrors...

and pretty things

with scrolls

and seashells

I really hate to get rid of these pretty things. None of this gold is the gaudy bright, cheap looking gold.   I know the frames and the mirror aren't old, not sure about the big thing that I don't know what to call.
All of them appear to have rotten stone on them which of course adds instant age.  But, we all know that they would be just as pretty painted Duck Egg Blue, Louise Blue, Paris Grey, or Old White.

Let's look at some treasures from last week.

Moonlight Dreams shared these gorgeous glasses and silver holders - love them!

Sherry @ No Minimalist Here won this French vanity at an auction.
S-t-u-n-n-i-n-g!!!!  Even better after the makeover!!!

  5. It may have been DTD (done to death) but I love seeing projects like your scrolly mirrors in oil rubbed bronze.
A classic look that does not go out of style.

  10. Rhonda, I'm so honored that you featured my silver holders and glasses!

I'm in love with all your scrolly pieces, not sure if I would paint them or not. I love the patina on them as they are. I'm sure, no matter what you decide, they will be gorgeous!

  12. Rhonda,

I love your frames and mirrors and would keep them. They are substantial pieces with beautiful details. Love your name for the basement considering your husband's career. :)
I posted today and although it's something I treasure not sure if it qualifies for your party. Let me know.

    Your Friend,
    Deborah

  13. Rhonda, Thanks so much for the feature and the shout-out! It's such fun to see everyone's finds and being inspired by them. Have fun with your mirrors- paint is NOT a bad word in my book! Now, if I could only start some of my own painting projects! LOL
