TeaCartScape

The wooden teacart is one of the furniture pieces that I recently brought into the dining room. I almost put it in my booth, but I am so very glad that I didn’t.  I keep a stack of plates on the bottom shelf and it’s so much easier to set the table now.

Here are some special things that I have displayed on the cart right now.  I am sure that it will see a lot of changes in the future.

Can you tell that I don’t follow the “less is more” attitude???

For the seven years that we have been in this house, I only used a painting on this wall.

I thought that a piece of furniture would ‘argue’ with the recessed china cabinet, but I think it’s fine.

And, it is so much fun to accessorize!!!

I made two of these dried floral arrangement six years ago to use on

each upside down, wire planter that I used as shelves in the dining room.

Here you can see the ‘before’ arrangement.

I didn’t need the second one anymore, so I took it apart and used

some of the stems to fill in the one I am using on the teacart.

I also needed it to be shorter so I took out the tall pussy willow stems.

I like to keep fresh flowers on the cart

Our gardenia bushes are full of buds and blooms.  They smell so delicious.

Aren’t old leather books wonderful?

I used a couple as a riser for my favorite bust.

The colors are chalky but still vivid. She is a beauty.

Old books are great for use as decorative items.

I know some folks think that books should be for reading only.

I can’t wait to start reading“Properties of Engineering Materials”

(Not)

This little copper container is the perfect place to keep silverware.

Love the image on this tole planter that I used for the dried floral arrangement

These are vintage, cut glass pieces that I use for floral arrangements.

The little pitcher cost $1.00 from a thrift store. (I am using it for the gardenias)

The sugar bowl is from the boxes of goodies that sister #4 sent for me to sale in my booth.

Some of those pretties are just never going to make it that far!

  1. What a great cart, Rhonda! I love the wheels on it! I think it looks great on that wall and doesn't compete with the cabinet at all. Being able to stack the dishes on the bottom must be very convenient. Nice addition to the dining room!

  2. Rhonda, I've been on the watch for a tea cart to use in our dining room. I think they are great for many purposes. The vignette on your cart is charming. Good choice to keep this one for yourself. ;-)

  4. Rhonda- I picked up a tea cart just like this for-dare I say it?! $7.93. Yesh...don't ask me why they have all these odd prices at the thrift store. Something to do with taxes maybe. Anyway, I am painting my own white as it is not a very pretty wood...and it is one of the first projects I have planned for Spring-when it is warm enough to paint outside. Yes! it is still cold here most days! I love the way you have yours set up and decorated. I am a "more is more" kinda gal too! It's a sickness! Have a wonderful night- Diana

  6. Hi Rhonda, I'm stopping by via Linda's blog, saw your pretty icon and wanted to come see. Beautiful vignette you've created with all your gorgeous collectables! And I love tea carts. Using it as sort of a side board is a great idea.

  11. Your arrangement is so pretty, the tea cart with the mirror looks perfect as do the other accessories. I especially like the feathers. (I've been tempted by a few tea carts on CL...)
