Here are some before and after shots of the dining room makeover
BEFORE:
Silk skirted wall shelves on either side of double French doors
These were upside down iron planter boxes : )
AFTER:
On the left of the door I am using this chest base and hutch that
got a new milk paint finish and some vintage metal baskets
It has deformalized the room and provided much needed storage
AFTER:
On the right side, this chest is providing some fun color
while also deformalizing and providing storage space
BEFORE:
Looking formal, this vintage French stand held
my Limoges box collection on the wall opposite the foyer
The blue stencil on the wall - Now you see it…
AFTER:
I moved this small shelf from the kitchen
I am using it to display the Limoges boxes
but it isn’t nearly as formal
And the blue stencil? Gone Baby Gone!!!
I was afraid I would regret painting over it, but Nope! Not a bit.
It was just another easy way to help to deformalize.
I still have several makeovers from the dining room that I want to share with you in future posts.

Rhonda-it looks great! It really did de-formalize it and make it more casual. I did love the stencil but I like it the way you have it now too! Amazing what a difference a few changes can make! xxoo Diana
