Feeling Sad

I hope everyone had a safe holiday weekend.

Our Labor Day weekend was dulled by a couple of sad things.

First, I would appreciate if you would pray for my great nephew.  He is the grandson of my only brother.  He is a very sick young man right now.

His family was vacationing in Florida when he became ill.  He stayed in bed and rested until they returned home.  His condition quickly worsened and he was hospitalized with pneumonia.  His temp is spiking up to 105 and they are using ice to try to keep it down.  Now, they have discovered one or possibly two heart valves are seriously infected.  Today, they were going to insert a shunt to carry antibiotics to his heart.

Dave is 26 years old.  He and his family needs your prayers.

I firmly believe there is power in prayer and I believe in miracles.

The other thing that has me heavy hearted is a terrible boating accident that took the life of a young woman here at our lake on Sunday night.

A family friend came over Monday and told us about it before it was in the news.  He was riding in the boat when it happened.

He said he and several friends were returning home after a concert.  The girl was on the bow of the boat doing what we have all done if we happen to be boaters.  She was “The King of the World” from Titanic.  It seems the driver saw a ‘hazard’ buoy  and let off the throttle.  The girl was thrown over the bow of the pontoon and went under it. The boat’s propellers hit her.

I didn’t know this girl or her family, but I have been so upset by this.  Of course, my daughter’s friend is having a really hard time having been there with them.  They both had just started working together a couple of days before.  Her boyfriend was also on the boat.  I can’t even imagine how horrible it was for him.

I am lifting this family up also.  Please,  join me if you will.

Thanks for listening and thanks to you prayer warriors (I know you are out there) for your prayers.

I will be back in a couple of days,  hopefully feeling better and with good news about our precious Dave.

God is good.

Rhonda

  2. Praying right now that the love and grace of God will shower upon the friends and family of the girl who lost her life and for healing for your brother's grandson as well.

I believe in prayer. From as far back as I first understood who God is I've believed in Him and that He cares about everything going on in our lives. May His mercy and peace flow down...

  3. Rhonda,
I will be sure to add Dave to my prayers...I'm a strong believer in prayer. I also will say a prayer for this young girls family and friends...was she a student at Auburn? My daughters boyfriend spent the weekend at the lake with family and friends...I will ask her if she has heard about this sad news. Please keep us up on how Dave is doing. Take care!

    Blessings,
    Linda

  15. Oh Rhonda! How very sad! I will pray for your nephew. At least he is in a hospital and they are working to heal him. There are so many miracles performed there everyday...we just need to pray that this is one more of them. Actually, in the longrun the illness may save his life..because he could have gone a long time until it was discovered he had a heart problem and he that may have been disastrous...so...maybe this is the beginning of God's healing for him.

I feel so bad for everyone involved in that young girl's accident. It will be life altering for everyone concerned. My prayers going out to her family and friends also.

I hope your week improves and please let us know about your nephew. Hugs...Diana
