The postman delivered something today, and as soon as I opened it, I knew that it would be the perfect backdrop for a pretty white table setting. So, I got busy playing dishes!
Okay, the package that arrived today was the Valentine give away that I won from the sweet Kat at “Low Tide High Style”. It is the most gorgeous, white, cut work throw. It is absolutely amazing!! I have always loved this look. My sweet mother used to do a technique that was similar.
So, here it is in all of it’s beautiful glory. It is sharing the spotlight with some of my favorite things.
I love it…of course I would never really eat on it, but it sure does look nice with the white, pink, and blue.
Here it is with nothing to distract you from seeing the details…look at those tiny stitches!
We had a Hawthorne bush growing right outside the house that I grew up in. It won’t be long until we can go outdoors and break a ‘real’, blooming hawthorn branch off.
This one is another faux stem from the florist that I talked about in my last post.
This cloche on it’s old wood base is from “Resurrect”. I have posted about how wonderful they are several times. Here – here – here. My sweet G-Man got it for me when they were set up at a local Spring show in a lovely park.
The white busts were my moms. She kept them on the piano in our formal living room. After seven years of practicing the piano, sometimes for 1 1/2 hours a day, I knew every little detail on their cute heads! {There were a few times when I wanted to throw one right across the room out of frustration. “How long do I have to sit here and practice this stupid song?”"}
I love my Johnson Bros. platter…a gift from my niece, Leisa.
(Happy birthday girlfriend!)
Leisa has a huge collection of china, ironstone, porcelain…new, vintage, etc. She had a very successful store on E-bay for years. After some life changes, she needed a full time job with benefits, so she reluctantly closed the store.
She still has a booth in an antique mall and last time I was there, a garage -full of boxed dishware. If you are looking for a replacement piece, e-mail me and I will be glad to check and see if she has it.
An incredibly good Riesling for only $7.00 a bottle.
The cute, white vase is a German, High Gravity beer bottle.
The flowers are the only surviving Valentine flowers!
I pulled out a few pieces of my vintage floral pieces. I had fun playing dishes!
I purchased this white coral while visiting another niece in St. Petersburg.
(Hi Em, and Miss Sophie…you too, Ilya!)
The dried rose buds are also from the Valentine’s arrangement.
Before you go to the parties, you should check out “Low Tide High Style” if you haven’t already discovered it. I don’t know about the tide, but Kat certainly has high style!
This post will be attending parties at the following locations:
White Wednesday Tablescape Thursday
Show and Tell Friday Saturday Nite Special
Thanks for playing with me!!
Rhonda

You are so fortunate with that lovely cut work throw. I just love those busts. I was thinking about your previous furniture painting and repainting posts. I could use some of that spare paint for one of my end tables. Are you visiting St. Pete anytime again, soon? :)
