I got my Janome sewing machine last Mother’s Day. I’m thinkin’ that I might ask for a serger or maybe just a lot of fun attachments this year. I would love to have a ruffle attachment! (hint, hint girls!)
The only problem is that I am staying up until 2:00 – 3:00 in the morning. I jump up by 7:00 and start where I left off. I can’t remember when I have been as excited over crafting!!
I think that it’s because I am really just letting my imagination go wild.
I started a pillow last night and had no idea what it would end up looking like. I just let the fabric and the colors lead me. I know that sounds really ditzy, but it’s true. I couldn’t wait to finish it today.
So, this is where my late night lead!
I ruched the center band across the middle
I love making these little roses
I used one of the gorgeous images @ “Victorian Vignettes” to make this fabric hang tag.
It is a Swedish card from 1904 titled “Secret Love”…how romantic!
Most of my pillows have the envelope style back.
This is like therapy!!! And, I don’t even have to leave the house!

I know what you mean about loving your machine! I did not think I need one with so much "stuff" - but I am so glad my hubby talked me into it! He and Eddie got into the computerized features and that sold him! The pillow turned out great! Maybe you should teach some classes at the store!

ReplyDeleteHi Rhonda!
ReplyDeleteNow that is soooo beautiful. What a lovely job of design and construction!
The ruching done loosely--without it being too stiff is the keystone to it--and the rose and tag transfer! So romantic. A couture job, Rhonda. You are very talented!
I so agree-- it is therapy. Sewing is healing and empowering.
Rhonda--just splendid!
love, kelee
Beautiful!!! I wish I was a better sewer...I'd make pillows all day long. I love pillows! And yours is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteNo, it does not sound ditzy. I basically do the same with my cake decorating and other cooking. I think your pillow looks great and I love the special touches you added - especially the tag. I am sure they would sell like hot cakes if you were to make more and sell them on Etsy.
