I Think I Can, I Think I Can…etc.!!!

My cyber store, Blue Creek Chic, was spinning aimlessly (and unnoticed) in technology orbit!  And, since I am pretty low tech,  I didn’t do some of the things that might have gotten it noticed.  I would find a promotional program that sounded promising and then they hit you with the monthly fee!!  It all got really complicated!!  Bottom line was, I wasn’t going to spend more money on it.  So, I took her down.  She is happy…I am happy!  If you were one of the sweethearts who put my button on your sidebar, you need to take it down – it leads to nowhere!

You would think that I would have learned my lesson, but NO!  I am crazy enough to try the Etsy route next!!!  It is much more affordable and I got it up really fast.  I hope there aren’t hidden fees lurking around, waiting to devour me!

Blue Creek Home – The Shop

A lot of you have Etsy stores that seem to be very successful.  So, I might as well see what will happen!

I do realize that handmade is just going to do better than vintage, thrifted items.  So, I am only listing a handful of items for now.   I am working on a few handmade ideas.

If anyone has any advice or words of wisdom, I would love to hear them!!!

I have the new Etsy button on my sidebar now.

  2. Good luck on your Etsy store, I will also be listing items on Etsy soon, that is as soon as I figure out how to do it. I'm pretty low tech to when it comes to computers. My partner already has things listed on Etsy so maybe she can help me.

  9. Rhonda,

I am sorry to say that I didn't know you had an online shop. I stopped by and couldn't leave without those vases!

  10. I am not a good Etsy advisor (tried it once but did not follow through), but I did get some useful advice from people who have been successful! You need to add things to your store often. If you add one thing it says current and when people view it -it brings traffic to your store to see everything. There are so many things on Etsy that people get "lost" so you have to direct them to your stuff! Good Luck! Much of my friend's business is blog generated or repeat customers!
