Good Deals This Week

It is time for "Today's Thrifty Treasures" with Rhoda @ "Southern Hospitality".

It's also "Metamorphosis Monday" over at "Between Naps on the Porch", hosted by Susan.

I found this sweet soup tureen at TJ Maxx for just $7.00!!! As soon as I spotted it down the aisle, I already had the "amount that I won't go over" set in my mind. That price was $19.99.
I couldn't believe the price when I carefully flipped it over. Yoo! Hoo!
This will be great for our Thanksgiving crab bisque.

This oddity also came from TJ Maxx. I got two of them for $1.00 each.
The clerk had no idea what they were. I didn't care since I wouldn't have used them for their original purpose anyway.
Here is what I came up with.

Dismantled
_________________________________________________________

Hot glue to seal the bottom, filled with water, and overnight in the freezer
_________________________________________________________

Monogramming with a hammer and nail
The ice prevents the metal from crimping when you pierce it
______________________________________________________________

Choosing the wire hanger
______________________________________________________________

Hanging up
Flowers would be fun too

Lights dimmed with a candle in it

Lights off...looking a bit spooky

  4. Rhonda, I love your soup tureen! I bought one recently too. They/re hard to find at a reasonable price but I think we both did really well. You did a nice job on whatever that metal cone was! Punching out a witch or a pumpkin would be a perfect addition to your Halloween decorating- maybe hanging from a tree? oooooh.... spooooky....

  11. That is so funny because when I saw it in the first picture I thought I would make a floral door hanger out of it.
