I spent two and a half hours at Eastwood Flea Market in Montgomery, AL on Friday. I think my eyes made contact with Everything in Every booth!!! Normally, I wouldn't spend quite that much time in one place, but I had tagged along with my husband, who was in Montgomery on business, and I promised that I would be fine for a couple of hours. Thank goodness they have a nice sitting area up front with lots of comfy rockers.
One would think that I would have had a truck load of treasures after that amount of time. Unbelievably, I only bought two things...for a big total of $7.95!!! Al could not even believe it.
I had scouted out lots of great "I'll come back for that" goodies and I made a mental note to go back and collect them. I certainly didn't want to schlep them around the whole time, and I hated to take so many "maybes" to the check out counter. Unfortunately, my mental notes got lost in all the other junk in my little brain and I didn't go back to collect anything. All I had were the two little items I carried around. On the drive home I would think of something else that I had forgotten and squawk about it for a while.
Al was a very happy man when we arrived home, bless his heart!

I got the blue McCarty Pottery rabbit on the right for $4.00!!! I received the other one as a good-bye gift from a special friend when we left Mississippi. Most of my friends there had several pieces of this pottery. McCarty's is located in Marigold, MS
My sweet $4.00 McCarty Rabbit usually sells for around $25.00.

This thread holder is a bit hokey, but it doesn't show from the door, and I really need it for the sewing area. I broke it on the way home!

This is a pottery company I have never heard of (I guess because I am from Illinois) but the bunnies are just Wonderful. And what a good deal you got
ReplyDelete. Question: Was the weather over 90 degrees at the flea market? As a flea market vendor that is the temp.( I say) that makes shopper's mind no longer able to function.
Rhonda, isn't Eastbrook fun to browse?? I've only been there one time, but would love to go back again. Where to you live??
ReplyDeleteOh, and I just love your bunny. I haven't heard of that pottery, but MS must be big on pottery, cause I have a Peter's pottery piece from MS. Got it on sale, but not a steal.

Your bunnies are darling! I need to stop over in Montgomery sometime to check out that market. Layla Palmer has blogged about it before and maybe Rhoda, too? I could spend a long time like you did just browsing.
